Jupiter's Children: TheGibbon

Tyrone Gibbs, a.k.a. the Gibbon, is a large African-American man in his late twenties, and one of the last First Wave Metas to come on the scene. Upon the activation of his metahuman abilities, Gibbs underwent physical mutations that caused him to devolve into a subhuman, simian appearance with unnaturally enhanced muscle masses, extra long arms and a hunched posture. Despite his warped appearance, Gibbs took to the wrestling circuit and quickly gained fame as the vicious Gibbon; he was, and still is, often referred to as the "Big Monkey".

For some years the Gibbon was a well-known (and sometimes notorious) sports/meta celebrity, much like Ali, Mike Tyson and O.J. Simpson, and lived in luxurious decadence from his fame and fortune. At some unknown point he dropped out of the media spotlight to focus on Zulu Inc., a shell company formed in the wake of his incorporation. Either because he saw it as a more lucrative source of income, or perhaps it better suited his violent nature, the Gibbon turned to more criminal pursuits.

Today, to the public the Gibbon is a retired sports star still living the good life, but the police is well aware of his affiliations with gangland activities in L.A. He leads and sponsors the Zulu gang, one of the fastest growing large-scale street gangs because of the Gibbon's involvement in it, and is rewarded with a substantial income from the endeavor. The Zulus reap a very hefty profit from running drugs, guns, protection rackets, and women, and the Gibbon is shrewd enough to keep the police at bay - by generous payouts if necessary, by cooperation if convenient, and discretionary application of violence if possible.

It is unknown what working relationship the Gibbon has with the mysterious Unionizer, if any.

The Gibbon is not an exceptionally powerful Meta as First Waves go, but he is a particularly dirty and vicious fighter, and he has no sense of fair play or honor; he will use every dirty trick and underhanded tactics in the book to win a fight. His known metahuman powers are:

- Superhuman strength, agility and endurance.
- Healing factor.
- Extendable-stretchable arms.

In addition, the Gibbon is usually accompanied by his "ho's", three attractive African American women highly trained in the martial arts, Ivory, Ebony and Pink but collectively known as the Furies. They serve as the Gibbon's bodyguards, companions and other less savory roles. Despite the generous pay they receive from Gibbs, why the Furies continue to be so loyal to the big monkey is often a topic of speculation by the paparazzi.
