Svetlana
Daily Appearance
Where most girls in LA dress to show off every asset to indecency with clothes that either don't cover or seem painted on, this girl is a surprising break from the trend. Rather than sleazy, she's dressed sensible. A shirt with long sleeves and a mock turtleneck collar drapes her torso, her modest bust present but not on display. A belt wraps her small waist, an upper border for her cargo shorts. The latter are no danger to modesty as she also wears leggings that stretch to her sneakers. She wears a beret at a rakish angle upon her long blonde hair, most of which is contained into a simple plait. Other than her quiet modesty, her most intriguing feature is her large dark blue eyes set in rather cute, but otherwise nonstriking features. Despite her long hair, she gives the impression of being a tomboy.Svetlana and Sif
Her long hair flows about her in a single mass, gradually tapering until it ends at her shins, restrained by elegant ribbons chased with gold and jewels to keep her bangs free of her eyes. The strands are white, so bone-white that it seems the only color to them is what is absorbed from her surroundings. Her clothing is ornate, a mixture of early centuries velvet with modern tastes. A long coat flows from shoulders to shins, elbow-length sleeves trimmed with silver patterns. The lower edge is chased with ornate gold designs. Silver is also seem under the coat, an elegant pattern of silver wings, scallops, and designs gracing her from collar to hem of skirt. There is an diamond shaped opening that shows modest cleavage under an ebon ribbon tie. An open faced skirt of white silk adds accents around her thighs, counterpoints to the jewels that dangle at the edge of a black hem. Her legs, girlishly long, are encased from thigh to foot in velvet stockings, ornate with sheer patterns at thigh, but open along the outside with cris-crossing cords. Her velvet boots are simple of heel, traced with gold and silver. Her gloves are elbow-length, ornate in design, but leave fingers free. She carries with her a sword, usually in its scabbard of ornate gold upon inky black. The sword is easily taller than she is, and though it looks heavy, she manages the weight with little effort.
Powers and Stuff
Her stuff is listed under +traits. But there's a few elements of the character I consider the most important, so I'll put them here.
Sword Dancer
I consider the combination of Svetlana and Sif to be extremely deadly. The two of them together are very much the unstoppable force. When they start dancing, there is very little that can stop them. Sif is indestructible and even if Svetlana is destroyed, she can be reincarnated. Sif can cut through about anything, from magic spells to force fields to battle armor. Svetlana is tireless and becomes pure movement. While that may seem more than a little intimidating, the danger they represent is very limited kind. They have their strength, and it is a very strong one. The traditional reactions to their kind of danger are mostly ineffectual. The point is while it is nearly impossible to stop them, they can be escaped.
Mercenary
Svetlana presents herself as a mercenary, concerned mostly about money. And while that is true, she is in fact very patriotic and a government agent in the employ of the Joint Chiefs and thus the President, though in a very covert manner. She is, in many respects, one of those legendary covert assassins. The government selects her targets then pays her to remove them. Federal agents then pay the part of clean up. It's quite feasible that she has even worked, if covertly, for the Department of Metahuman Affairs in the past. Publicly, she has a cover as an assassin with the cover of a traveling saleswoman. An important thing to note is that even though she considers herself a 'good guy', Svetlana isn't a crime fighter. While she won't hesitate to draw Sif and begin dancing if she believes herself to be in danger, she takes her promise to her employer quite seriously.
Day One
Not sure how involved Svetlana will be with this setting (I think it's a setting?). The whole thing is pretty confusing and so far what I have seen is a very... over-the-top. I'm not sure I like some of the suggestions I've received so far about how to 'fit her in'. Just being honest, here. :)Friends and Enemies
So far Svetlana has met AlanisTurley and Dusk. A couple conversations with Alanis, but only a few words with Dusk.
