So, what's going on with those metas anyway, you ask? There's a lot of
hype, exaggerations, and outright lies. The metas are glorified and
showcased with the level of fanaticism that was previously seen for sports
stars.
But that's for the metas that have a rep.
Not all metas are known to the public, some prefer to keep quiet and get
the job done. Some just aren't photogenic enough. Some just don't get
noticed by the media. Some don't hire a public relations agent.
It's a two-edged sword. The most popular metas have the least to worry
about from a legal standpoint, even the bad guys. They're the public's
darlings. It's not a matter of 'they can do no wrong' as much as they are
idolized. At the same time, if they don't keep entertaining people with
their heroics, or villainy, the media will drop them without a thought and
they'll suddenly find themselves out in the cold... And probably with
plenty of enemies willing to keep them even colder.
What's that mean for RP? Live it up! Smile for the camera, pause to wave
to the crowds... Make those fights spectacular. It's like pro wrestling,
except if you /really/ hurt your opponent it's a bonus!
