Jupiter's Children: DayOneOverView

While in truth there are no character classes in Jupiter Mush, there are simply characters, I have decided to create this section as a way of helping you, the players, decide on where your characters fall. Please use +traits to list your character archetype, as it will be a handy guide for both players and staff to associate NPC organizations either with or against your character based on the archetype. It is therefore very handy in terms of storyline creation and the reaction of both NPC and players who want to role-play a reaction to an action your character takes.

The archetypes comprise of: Super Human Metas, Aliens, Extra-Dimensional, Tech Type Humans, Robots, or non-powered characters in power or not in power as you like. Essentially you are only limited by the scope of your own imagination where character creation is concerned. As for number of alts and such, please consult the general rules in the Jupiter news file concerning that.

Super Human metas are characters who got their powers from the Jupiter Effect. There are different levels of these which will be explained below.

Super human Irregulars are characters who got their powers from different means other than the Jupiter Effect. This is only limited by your own creativity.

Irregulars don't work in the theme. Check out FaqJupiterEffect for some details.

Aliens: Hellz yeah, extra-terrestrials exist. The Jupiter Effect was largely noted by the extraterrestrial community, and some have sent in spies, scientists, or military strategists for their planet’s either benevolent or malevolent purposes. Individual aliens have also come here, feeling that they will be easily able to blend in as a Meta.

Extra-Dimensional: The Jupiter Effect Radiation has caused “Holes” in the very fabric of the universe, which is why many alien races are so interested in studying it. Unfortunately, one of these holes, though not currently known by the human population, is IN Los Angeles, and sometimes things come through it. Your character could very well be one of those things.

Actually, everyone gets their powers from the Jupiter Effect (See FaqJupiterEffect). The players should know this oocly, but the characters can easily believe differently. Even aliens and extradimensional are in some ways related to JE. --JupiterAdmin

Non-Powered: Non-Powered simply means you don't have natural super powers. You may have technology that puts you on completely equal footing with those who DO have super powers. You weren’t affected by the Jupiter Effect radiation or anything else. Or you may be a secret agent for a government, or a civilian with influence and power, or just a secondary character. There are tons of choices for Non-Powered characters in D-1.

A note: Super-science is regarded part of the JE. Someone that has some, should specify where they got it. If from another character or NPC, then they are considered normal (though the latter is pushing it, depends on who controls the npc, I suppose). But note that 'gadgets' should never be mass-producible. --JupiterAdmin
