How might you end up having a character removed?
Well, one that has been around but not logged into for a long time may be
idledested. Since there's not much worry about disk space for this game,
there's no plans to wipe any old characters. (Considering several players
have returned after being gone for over 2 years, it's not likely to be
put into practice any time soon.)
If it's decided that wiping is necessary, We'll try and set up an exit for
the character if possible (see: news char retire').
Characters that are due to be idle-dested will be checked for an email
address. If one is found, the character and CTO will be @decompile'd and
sent to the listed email address. (This is why letting the staff know a
current email address is important.)
Someone can ask for a character of theirs to be removed. This isn't likely
to happen, for the same reasons as above for idle wipes. Database size
isn't an issue and there's no real reason not to allow the player to
return.
If someone manages to tick off a number of the players or staff, their
characters may be removed after the player is kicked off the game. (see
'news policies') Hopefully, this will be really rare. :)
