Characters on Jupiter's Children

A game like Jupiter's Children is much more than a theme and setting. It is a collection of characters, both the player characters and non-player characters.

For a brief description of PCs and NPCs, check out the CharacterDirectory.

Creating a Page

  1. create a user account and a user page. See CategoryUsers for instructions.
  2. On the user page, simply add the character name as a wikiname (See CategoryUsers for an explanation of wiki names). To make sorting things out, and to help avoid collisions, the best way to create the character's wiki name is to simply add "Character" to the front of the character's name. So a user with the character Mystery would type CharacterMystery on their page. Once the page is saved, the wiki will automatically create a link under the name.
  3. Click on the new wiki name. This will take you into the editor for the new page. Put in the information you want.
  4. At the bottom of the page add four dashes (----) to create a horizontal line on the page and the following categories: CategoryCharacters -- PlayerCharacters. This is like adding CategoryUsers to the bottom of the user page. This is important because otherwise the wiki doesn't know the page belongs to a category.
    1. A non-player character would have the categories: CategoryCharacters -- NonPlayerCharacters at the bottom.
  5. Go to CharacterDirectory and add an entry for your character. Keep it short and sweet.
  6. If you think the wiki page name is awkward (most of us will), you can have the link display as something different. For the above example, to have CharacterMystery display more simply as Mystery, do the following: [[CharacterMystery Mystery]]. For more formatting tips, see FormattingRules.
