AlanisTurley runs Artisans, the shopfront for several craftspeople and a collective of ex fine art students. She makes jewellery, both affordable and bespoke pieces which carry a high price, and dabbles in a number of other crafts.
Born in Washington state, she hasn't been back there for more than a week or two since she began college several years ago, although her family remains in touch. One of those for whom the sun of California has been an irristible attraction.
